RAIN Notes: Wednesday, April 13

Jottings of note:

Departure

Courtney Holt, architect of Spotify’s ambitious and acquisitive podcast strategy, is leaving the company, according to Bloomberg reporting. Holt brought Joe Rogan into the platform, as well as the Obamas, Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Audio studio, and early acquisition of Gimlet, Parcast, and The Ringer. According to unnamed source, Holt’s job will fall to existing execs, and there is no sign as of now that Spotify is seeking a direct replacement.
