Apple Music round-up: Three business items about the streaming service

Apple Music has entered into a deal with an Australian telecom company to offer a 12-month free trial of the streaming service as part of a mobile bundle. Beatport opens uploads to all with focus on transparency

Beatport recently updated its terms to allow anyone to create an account and upload original tracks. These songs can be monetized on Beatport’s platform, and the owner will receive between 5% and 10% of the total amount generated by a track. Hubbard Radio buys into in PodcastOne

Hubbard Radio and PodcastOne announced that Hubbard has acquired 30% of podcast network, in a deal whose finances are undisclosed. For the second time in two weeks, radio has bought into podcasting. Streaming continues to grow in France for H1 2015

The Syndicat National de l’édition Phonographique, better known as SNEP, released data on the first half of 2015 in France’s music industry. The nation saw 7.5 billion streams in those first six months, up 36% from the number of streams in the year-ago period.
