Sonos pivots toward a future of subscription streaming, voice controls

Sonos announced a big business shakeup, including layoffs and a new focus in how it will bring music into the home. In a blog post discussing the changes, CEO John MacFarlane spoke about how the home audio landscape is changing and how the company wants to stay at the forefront of that transition. Webcast listening gains 14% year-over-year (Triton Digital Webcast Metrics)

Webcast listening in January inched downward by 2% compared to December (when holiday listening helped give an upward lift over November), and notched a 14% rise year-over-year, according to Triton Digital’s monthly Webcast Metrics Top 20 Ranker, released this morning.
