Australia’s SCA enjoys jump in streaming metrics
Southern Cross Austerio (SCA) has released a basket of bragging-rights metrics for key streaming properties. SCA’s live streaming audience has grown 58% year-over-year, and the company says that digital audio is its fastest growing advertising platform. The combined streaming for SCA networks reached an audience of 1.5-million in September. SoundCloud and SCA create SoundCloud Radio on DAB+

Australia radio network mulls raising podcast rates above radio rates
Southern Cross Austereo, one of the largest radio and media groups in Australia, has signalled that it might raise its podcast advertising rates a bove its radio ad rates. The message came from CEO Grant Blackley, along with a financial release for fiscal 2017 that showed a 41% profit increase on 7.5% revenue gain.

Southern Cross Austereo, Australia’s largest commercial radio group, has reportedly started turning on the webcasts of its radio stations. At least 18 stations are now simulcasting. It has been two years since, in a startling boycott of Internet-delivered radio, Australian radio stations shut off their streams as an act of protest.
