Rumor Fact(ory): Apple could incorporate Beats into iTunes by next year

Unnamed sources told the Wall Street Journal that worldwide music sales from the iTunes Store fell 13%-14% since the start of 2014. A single individual also told WSJ that Apple is in the process of rebuilding Beats Music and will relaunch the service next year as part of iTunes. Beatport buys, closes social listening app Listn

Beatport purchased a social listening app called Listn for an undisclosed price, then promptly decided to shut down the service. Kurt Hanson’s AccuRadio raises $2.5-million funding

Internet radio pioneer AccuRadio announced a $2.5-million investment from NantWorks LLC, headed by entrepreneur Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong. AccuRadio was founded by CEO Kurt Hanson, also RAIN News Founding Editor. Kurt Hanson began building AccuRadio in 2000.
