Bop.fm links up with four more music platforms, including Pandora

Bop.fm announced the addition of several music services to its agnostic listening platform. Pandora, Xbox Music, Rhapsody, and Napster are now a part of the program. Bop.fm allows its members to share songs across platforms, and to create playlists from music. This makes the Pandora relationship particularly interesting, since it’s a lean-back service. Lexus partners with Pandora on “pop-up” concert series

Pandora is working with car dealer Lexus to host a series of four free pop-up concerts in Southern California. According to Pandora’s press release, the streaming radio platform used its Big Data stores to determine the best artists to feature at each concert location. Forbes predicts 120 million active users for Pandora within six years; could it happen?

Forbes published an article with predictions about Pandora’s audience base, estimating that its number of active users would grow from 76.2 million in 2013 to almost 120 million during the next five or six years. That’s a bold prediction, especially considering that Pandora actually posted a small dip in monthly active users in its second-quarter conference call. The June data from comScore revealed that 25 percent of the service’s active monthly unique visitors, an audience of almost 19 million, are Hispanic. Research finds Pandora listening may not replace broadcast radio time

NuVoodoo Media Services released new research that found Pandora and broadcast radio may have a more symbiotic relationship than expected. The survey of 1,100 in the PPM markets revealed that 62 percent of the Pandora users listened to the online radio service for at least half an hour per day, and 56 percent of Pandora users spent that much time listening to broadcast radio.
