Adam Sachs, a pioneering podcast executive, has been promoted by SiriusXM to the role of Senior Vice President of Entertainment, Comedy and Podcasts Programming. was head of Team Coco, Conan O’Brien’s podcast company, and was CEO of Midroll Media (parent company of Stitcher) when it was acquired by SiriusXM in 2020. Sirius noted that headwinds with economic and business uncertainties causing many major advertisers to be cautious in their marketing spend. Today SiriusXM announces its acquisition of Conan O’Brien’s podcast company Team Coco, for $150-million. The deal includes hit podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” and all Team Coco employees become SiriusXM employees. Team Coco produced 14 shows currently. Conan enters a five-year development deal. Podcast network Crooked Media has signed with SXM Media (ad-sales arm of Sirius XM), giving SXM exclusive global ad sales rights across Crooked Media’s catalog.
