SoundCloud inks European deal with Universal, SACEM

A new agreement for SoundCloud will expand its library available for Europe. The audio company entered a tie-up with Universal Music Publishing International and the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (SACEM) in France. The licensing deal covers SoundCloud’s new Go subscription service and its free, ad-supported listening.

SoundCloud expands ads and subscriptions to UK and Ireland; partners with DAX

Berlin-based SoundCloud has launched two initiatives in U.K. and Ireland which bring those markets up to speed with the SoundCloud experience in the U.S. First, the SoundCloud Go subscription plan is now available to those audiences. Second, the free-listening service is now supported with advertising, some of which will be supplied by the Global-owned DAX automated platform.

SoundCloud’s paid streaming subscription has arrived

SoundCloud unveiled a subscription tier for its online audio platform. SoundCloud Go will give members an expanded catalog, including “the full repertoire of artists signed to independent labels and major labels alike,” clocking in at more than 125 million tracks. The tier will also allow offline access and ad-free listening. This is a move that we’ve been expecting ever since SoundCloud completed the trifecta of major label licensing deals.
