Spotify’s push for new video content is continuing at break-neck speed. The latest release is an animated series titled “Drawn & Recorded.” The ten episodes will share stories from pop music history. Subjects include Kurt Cobain’s motivation for writing Smells Like Teen Spirit and Louis Armstrong’s ties to then-Vice President Richard Nixon. The series is narrated by famed producer and performer T-Bone Burnett and drawn by artist Drew Christie. Videos will appear on Spotify’s mobile and desktop versions.
Since its plans to add video content began rolling out at the start of the year, Spotify has debuted several original series. The topics range from a documentary of Metallica to personal stories from NFL players to fan-powered performer interviews.
