Music streaming startup Vadio is planning to sell off its business after it was unable to secure enough investment. The company, which ran a music video distribution service, has now cut most of its team and is looking for a buyer.

Shazam adds music videos via Vadio partnership

Shazam has entered a partnership that will add music video channels to its app. The multifaceted mobile company has teamed up with video engagement business Vadio for this effort to increase time spent in its app. When a user Shazams a song, they will now see a music video channel in addition to the track’s metadata.

Warner partners with video service Vadio

Warner Music Group announced a partnership with streaming video service Vadio. This deal will see Vadio and its distribution partners getting access to music videos from Warner’s artist roster.

Former Vevo, Sony execs join Vadio’s video team

Vadio, a startup at the crossroads of music and video, made some major announcements today. First, it has added two new industry experts to its leadership. Former Vevo CEO Rio Caraeff has joined Vadio’s board of advisers and former Sony executive Yair Landau will serve as the company’s COO. Second, Vadio has received $7.5 million in Series A funding.

Vadio partners with Vevo, provides “Radio worth watching”

Last week Vadio, a video-technology platform, announced a partnership with Vevo, a music video portal. The deal gives Vadio access to Vevo videos, for inclusion in curated video streams that Vadio synchs up with radio station webcasts. Vevo embodies a catalog of 100,000 high-quality song videos, concert events, and original programming. The alliance allows Vadio to enhance its existing repertoire of videos from which it curates programming for radio stations and other clients.
