Shazam is now ad-free following Apple acquisition

Apple paid up a chunk of change and fended off a challenge in European courts in order to acquire Shazam. Now that the audio-identification app is officially under Apple’s umbrella, the first changes are happening under the new leadership. Most recently, Apple has delivered on its previously announced plans to make the platform ad-free.

The latest version of the Shazam app still opens directly to the screen for identifying audio content. It now has a My Shazam section that includes all recently identified audio, including options to open music tracks in third-party music services. There is also a Discover section with artist and song recommendations, as well as updates from any social connections within Shazam. None of the sections have advertisements.
