Pandora was recognized by the IAB Sales Excellence Awards program. The online radio company was honored as the winner in overall sales excellence for a large sales organization. The winners were determined by questionnaire responses from more than 560 agency and marketing executives. The respondents came from a cross-section of business verticals, and each spent at least $1 million on interactive advertising during the last year.
“The IAB Sales Excellence Awards identify industry leaders who have achieved noteworthy success selling digital advertising,” said Sherrill Mane, SVP of research, analytics and measurement at IAB. “They are celebrated today for their talent and acute understanding of how to create advertising solutions that meet the demands of media buyers and marketers within an ever-evolving digital landscape.”
Pandora’s most recent ad sales development was the sponsorship model for its exclusive streaming of popular true crime podcast Serial. The company has also been growing its local ground teams, with more than 30 ad sales offices thanks to additions in cities like St. Louis and Minneapolis. Pandora CFO Mike Herring spoke in detail about the online radio company’s advertising outlook at an analyst event in September.
