7digital announced that over the past month it has entered into new or expanded contracts valued at £1.8 million. The company sent out a press release noting that it has seen an uptick in interest as broadcast organizations look into finding new options in the streaming audio space. “It’s particularly pleasing to see one of the key areas which we identified for growth – the radio industry – starting to deliver significant business,” CEO Simon Cole said. “Our skills and technology sit at the meeting place of radio and streamed music and we see a lot of potential in the client products we are working closely with.”
We at RAIN News had previously reported on several of the recent contracts involving the digital music and radio services platform. It is working with TeamRock.com and with Astra Media in Malaysia for the new Raku streaming platform. The company is also providing its catalog for music messaging and chat service Rithm and for the social music and broadcast platform urRadio. It has also expanded its existing contract with ROK Mobile, and will power that listening platform in the UK. Finally, it is working with CrowdTunes, a music management platform for venues that lets patrons control and engage with the soundtrack from a smartphone app.
