Consequence of Sound, a music news blog, has made two moves into building out its in-house audio content business. First, today the company announced the launch of the Consequence Podcast Network. The network will be led by Director Cap Blackard and launches with six series. The debut podcasts cover more than music, although there is a Consequence of Sound show. The other programming includes TV Party and The Loser’s Club: A Stephen King Podcast, covering a range of entertainment topics.
“At Consequence, we’ve always held true to being a down-to-earth, personal voice in the world of media journalism,” Blackard said. “There’s no modern platform more personal than podcasts, and I’m excited that our fans and media-lovers in general get to know us even more intimately than before. We’re gonna have a lot of fun.”
In addition, AdLarge has told RAIN News that its digital audio division cabana entered a podcast advertising sales partnership with Consequence of Sound. “Consequence of Sound has an incredible impact on legions of passionate music fans, and adding podcasts is a natural progression,” said Gary Schonfeld, co-founder and co-CEO of AdLarge Media and cabana. “We’re thrilled to represent them and give our advertisers an exciting podcast platform to connect with young and highly engaged audiences.”
