Warner promotes Oana Ruxandra as new chief digital officer

Warner Music Group has appointed Oana Ruxandra as its new chief digital officer and executive vice president of business development. She rejoined WMG in 2018 after two years at Universal Music Group, and was most recently the company’s interim head of business development and its EVP, new business channels – chief acquisition officer. With this promotion, Ruxandra will lead efforts in creating additional revenue opportunities and partnerships, as well as leading future negotiations with new media platforms and tech companies.

“Oana has the passion, vision, and expertise to spearhead our digital strategy in both developed and emerging markets, while developing innovative partnerships that will reinvent the business for the future,” WMG CEO Steve Cooper said. “A masterful negotiator and creative leader, she’s one of the brightest minds in the industry, and I’m very happy to officially welcome her into her role.”

Ruxandra fills the role left vacant by Ole Obermann, who left the major label last year and since joined TikTok.
