Stitcher, part of SXM Media, atop new Triton Digital U.S. Podcast report (April)

Triton Digital released the April U.S. Podcast Report. Following are the top highlights from this month’s ranker as framed by Triton:

  • Top three podcasts: NPR News Now (NPR), Crime Junkie (audiochuck/SXM Media), and The Ben Shapiro Show (Cumulus Podcast Network)
  • New shows that debuted this period for downloads and listeners: Very Scary People (WarnerMedia), and Murder With My Husband (Cloud10)
  • And, Real Ghost Stories Online (Audioboom) debuted for downloads, while Critical Role (Stitcher Media) and Snapped: Women Who Murder (Wondery) debuted for listeners.

On the network side, Stitcher Media remained in the #1 spot on the Top Networks Report with 53.0M Average Weekly Downloads and 13.9M Average Weekly Users, followed by, NPR coming in at #2 with 32.7M Average Weekly Downloads and 6.9M Average Weekly Users, and Audacy Podcast Network with 29.5M Average Weekly Downloads and 8.0M Average Weekly Users.

The top 20 publishers served 218-million average weekly downloads.

Interestingly in this report, whose participants are Triton measurement clients, is that seven radio networks are in the top 20 podcast networks. (Audacy, Cumulus, Salem, Bonneville, Beasley, CBC, Prisa.)
