Tidal X charity concert raises $3.7 million

Tidal’s recent charity concert raised $3.7 million for relief following multiple devastating natural disasters in North America. Tidal X: Brooklyn is the third charity performance hosted by the Jay-Z owned streaming service. The funds raised, including the $1.3 million committed by presenting sponsor Bacardi, will be divided between several relief organizations, including Direct Relief, One America Appeal, Greater Houston Community Foundation, Miami Community Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity in Puerto Rico.

Tidal started 2017 with the announcement that telecom Sprint had purchased a 33% stake in the company. Sprint was involved with several promotional efforts and bundle deals over the course of the year. Tidal also hired Richard Sanders as its CEO in August. He is the fourth person to hold the top exec position in about two years.
