Tidal is bringing better-quality audio to Android smartphones. The streaming service has partnered with MQA, Master Quality Authenticated, to bring advanced audio quality to listeners on Android devices. The two parties started working together to bring master-quality audio to Tidal’s HiFi tier on desktop two years ago. The latest update brings the MQA decoder to HiFi listeners on Android. The Tidal HiFi subscription costs $19.99 a month.
“This is a major advancement for the audiophile community and Tidal’s HiFi members,” Tidal COO Lior Tibon said. “As our platform evolves, our partnership with MQA continues to expand and cements our position as a leader in the High-Fidelity audio space.”
“We know that most music fans are choosing to stream on their phones,” said MQA CEO Mike Jibara. “MQA’s view is that you should have the best quality sound regardless of where you’re listening. We’re delighted that, through our ongoing collaboration with Tidal, access to master quality audio is now expanding across mobile.”
