At RAIN Summit West in Las Vegas, Tom Webster of Edison Research gave an informative and entertaining special presentation called “The New Curators.” He included new, previously unpublished information from The Infinite Dial 2014, a joint project of Edison and Triton Digital. (Also: “Eyeglasses, dresses, Gnutella, and the most embarrassing record in my record collection.”)
The new data related to how people share content — songs, stations, playlists — on social platforms. the thrust was that sharing is a vital part of the adoption of Internet radio, and that all content managers should deepen their understanding of how content is effectively curated.
Tom Webster synchronized the audio of his speech with a video of his slides, in order to — you guessed it — effectively share the content. Here it is. (You can also get the slides alone here. Listen to audio of all Summit sessions here.)
The Next RAIN conference, RAIN Summit Indy, is on September 9 in Indianapolis.
