Spotify’s latest original podcast is a collaboration with BBC Studios. The streaming service commissioned the UK broadcaster for a show titled Stay Free: The Story of The Clash. The eight-part series will be narrated by Public Enemy frontman Chuck D and will explore the rise and fall of the punk group.
“Delivering our first Spotify commission has been an amazing creative experience – using rare archive material and interviews it brings the story of The Clash to life for a whole new generation,” said Georgia Moseley, creative director for BBC Studios Digital and the podcast’s executive producer.
“It’s an honor heading up this new podcast Stay Free: The Story of The Clash,” Chuck D said. “I was and am a big fan of their music. We were always tackling very similar social and political issues.”
