Spotify has a new exclusive podcast on the horizon, and its tapping well-known talents yet again. The upcoming show is called I’m Gonna Be Kevin Bacon, and Kevin Bacon will be in the story playing himself. The fictional series from Funny Or Die is about an imaginary actor who loses the role in Footloose to Bacon, and then embarks on a quest for revenge over the job he could have had. Digital comedy producer Dan Abramson is helming the 12-episode project, which is expected to have other actors playing themselves besides the titular one.
This is the latest deal for original podcast programming at Spotify. The company kicked off a long push for content last May with a big-budget show from Amy Schumer, and most recently landed a deal with Higher Ground, the production company from Barack and Michelle Obama.
