Rhapsody and Napster have reached the 3 million subscriber milestone. It has been a year of fast growth for the streaming services, which announced 2.5 million listeners in February and 2 million listeners last July.
Mobile listening was a strong source of growth for Rhapsody, increasing 60% from this time last year. The company added some mobile-centric features, such as Twitter audio cards. And multiple times over the past twelve months, Rhapsody has revealed data about the importance of mobile to its listeners. On the service’s 13th birthday in December, 63% of its audience was mobile-only. By February that metric had risen to 70%.
