RAIN Summit Indy announces Clear Channel’s President of Networks Darren Davis as keynoter

Darren DavisDarren Davis, President of Networks for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s RAIN Summit Indy, to be held Tuesday, September 9 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. An official partner event, RAIN Summit Indy will be held on the day immediately preceding The Radio Show produced by RAB and NAB.

RAIN Summits are the premiere educational and networking events for online audio. The day-long conferences are geared to both broadcasters on the Web (such as ESPN Radio and Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio) and online-only platforms (such as Spotify, Pandora and Radionomy).

Registration for RAIN Summit Indy is now open.

“The RAIN Summit keynote speaker historically represents a leading online platform,” said RAIN News Founder and Publisher Kurt Hanson. “iHeartRadio is one of the strongest online radio brands in the country, and a leader among broadcasters streaming online.”

Previous keynote speakers at RAIN Summits include Pandora Founder Tim Westergren, RAB President and CEO Erica Farber, Entercom President and CEO David Field, Rhapsody President Jon Irwin, VP/GM Yahoo Launchcast David Goldberg, and digital media entrepreneur Jason Calacanis.

Clear Channel’s digital radio platform, iHeartRadio, has over 330 million app downloads and 47 million registered users.

“Clear Channel’s vast multi-platform networks provide listeners, advertisers and partners with products and services that capitalize on the continually growing power of radio,” said Davis. “I am honored to join RAIN Summit Indy and share some key insights that will help others bridge the gap between the traditional broadcast and the burgeoning digital worlds.”

Davis has a 21-year career with Clear Channel starting as an intern and working up the ranks. He’ll provide insight on Clear Channel’s innovative digital initiatives.

“We’re delighted to be featuring Darren Davis as our keynote speaker at RAIN Summit Indy,” said RAIN Enterprises president and CEO Jennifer Lane. “Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio is a best- of-breed example of integrated cross platform content distribution, and we’re looking forward to hearing an insightful presentation about its innovative approach.”

RAIN Summit Indy will spotlight speakers representing a spectrum of leadership across the online radio industry. They will bring actionable insights about programming, ad sales, business strategies, financial considerations, international opportunities and more.
