Kevin Brown has been appointed chairman at the Official Charts Company. He will be replacing BMG UK SVP Korda Marshall, who held the chair spot for three years, starting January 2016. The Official Charts Company is owned jointly by the Entertainment Retailers Association and the British Phonographic Industry, and its listings focus on the music purchasing and listening habits of the UK.
Brown’s industry experience includes his current post as the head of European label relations at Spotify. He has also run his own global marketing consultancy and was head of international for 3D Artist Management.
“I’m really looking forward to drawing on that breadth of experience as we steer the Official Charts through what is a fascinating and hugely exciting time for the entertainment sector,” Official Charts CEO Martin Talbot said.
