Ford adds U.K. RadioPlayer to Sync dashboards

ford2013 has been the year for demonstrating how difficult it can be to turn on the radio in new cars with digital dashboards. In October Edison Research published an enlightening and entertaining series of videos spying on American new-car buyers learning their systems and commenting on the experience. The same confusion presumably plagues British drivers.

Ford is making life easier for U.K. drivers by partnering with RadioPlayer, a U.K. station aggregator. RadioPlayer will implement Ford’s AppLink code, which activates Sync function when controlling the app. The result will be that Sync drivers will be able to voice-control their way from one U.K. station to another. RadioPlayer includes all the BBC stations.
