Billboard has made an adjustment to the streaming services that will count toward its chart calculations. Streams logged by iHeartRadio and Pandora subscribers will be included in chart performance beginning July 14. The change will include streams from both the full on-demand subscriptions and the mid-tier subscriptions from both music companies.
In addition to the expanded set of streaming sources, the July 14 chart will be the first to reflect Billboard’s previously announced shift to give more weight to paid streams will take effect. The UK’s Official Charts Company just shared plans to make a similar change starting with its July 6 charts. In addition, OCC will include video streams from select subscription sources to the calculations for its Official Singles Chart.
