ART19 announced a new hire for its podcast hosting and distribution network. Roddy Swearngin joins the company as executive vice president of content. In this capacity, he’s be tasked with working alongside ART19’s partners and overseeing all of the platform’s sales and support. Swearngin’s resume most recently includes director of digital for Levity Entertainment Group, where he founded Sideshow Network. With that comedy podcast network, he helped manage production of more than 10,000 podcast episodes across 100 different shows.
“Podcasting is an intimate medium that is highly effective for advertising, and ART19’s tools for measurement and ad insertion are helping producers and brands capitalize on that,” he said of the new position. “More dollars in the space will result in more quality content, and that’s great for everyone.”
ART19 just launched from beta at the beginning of August. Its launch partners include familiar podcasting names such as Midroll Media, Wondery, and DGital Media. The team offers dynamic ad insertion, ad targeting, and custom APIs for audience measurement.
