Apple has reportedly signed new licensing agreements for its streaming service. Financial Times reported (paywall) that the company secured multi-year deals with the three majors: Universal Music Group, Sony Music, and Warner Music Group.
However, these agreements don’t appear to have any provisions that would allow Apple Music to be combined in an Apple services bundle subscription. Apple has reportedly been considering a single subscription that would offer access to music streaming as well as its other entertainment options, such as Apple Arcade mobile games or Apple TV+ video streaming. It would need licenses to move ahead with that concept, and a fresh round of agreements would need to determine the revenue share for labels in that situation.
