Steve Goldstein started Amplifi Media in March, leaving a 30-year executive career at Saga Communications to apply his knowledge of content and production to on-demand audio. At that time, Goldstein told RAIN News, “Podcasting is in the first inning.”
If that statement is true in the context of category growth, it is also true for awareness of the genre and its key metrics, Goldstein told us this week. “In speaking with various media companies interested in audio strategies, it became apparent that there was little knowledge of the audio-on-demand sector beyond knowing the term podcast and maybe Serial,” he shared.
