Podcast company Acast announced a new hire to expand its efforts in programmatic advertising. Michael Bayston has joined the business as its programmatic director for the EMEA region. In this post, Bayston will head up programmatic advertising across Acast’s network globally. He was most recently with the BBC in the role of programmatic account director for Western Europe.
“Premium programmatic revenue for podcasting is ready to be unlocked and Acast is the global innovator in this field, developing a robust method of automation for podcast media buying,” Bayston said. “Podcasters and advertisers rightly have high expectations of the quality of advertising and sponsorship they get with Acast, and it’s important we maintain those standards while meeting the demands of the channel.”
“Michael is here to lead us into the future of automated media buying,” said Joe Copeman, global SVP of sales for Acast. “He’ll ensure Acast continues to revolutionize and evolve, cementing our place as the leading global marketplace for podcasts with host-read, airtime and programmatic advertising available in every corner of the world.”
