YouTube Red has launched in Australia. The paid, ad-free combination music and video subscription is now available to Aussie listeners for AU$11.99. Until July 6, new sign-ups will receive a special price of AU$9.99. There’s also a month-long free trial period.
The rollout includes the set of features that YouTube Red launched with in the U.S. Australia was announced as the second market for the platform back in February. In sharing that plan, YouTube Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl said that the subscription was “tracking exactly to our plans” in the U.S. No formal details have been announced yet about audience size or revenue, however.
