Voxmatic offers free custom Alexa skill to podcasters

Voxmatic is looking to put voice commands into the hands of podcasters large and small. The business has launched a free platform for the creation personal skills on the Amazon Alexa platform for podcasters. Its starter kit offers individual skill/flash briefing publishing. It plans to add a professional package later this year that includes in-app purchases, donations, and custom features.

“We believe that voice interfaces open doors for audio content creators to speak directly with their audience, without aggregators and other intermediaries. Unlike music business, where visual interface and curated content is the key to success, podcasting is a space where users are loyal to particular podcast hosts, not to an app, which plays the show.” Voxmatic CEO Mike Mulev said. “The same thing with local news. That creates opportunity to own that engagement, speak to the audience directly, offer premium content and enjoy transparency on how ad revenue is
generated.”

Voxmatic already counts Live365, Hits94, and Adriel Lubarsky (host of the Curious City podcast).
