Vox Media is making a shift in its burgeoning podcast strategy. The media company has signed a distribution deal with Panoply Media and is bringing its entire podcast network to the Megaphone platform. The move includes shows from all of Vox’s brands, including Vox, Recode, The Verge, SB Nation, Polygon, Eater, and Curbed.
Megaphone will provide a full suite of services across publishing, dynamic ad insertion, distribution, audience development, ad operations, campaign management, reporting, and analytics. Vox will also use the Megaphone Targeted Marketplace to complement its own ad sales and monetization; this aspect will begin with a limited test on podcasts from SB Nation.
“We’re excited to work with Panoply and bring our podcasts onto the Megaphone platform,” said Marty Moe, president of Vox Media. “Megaphone’s technology is the best we’ve seen in the market. Their innovations in ad ops, campaign management and targeted advertising technology will help us streamline our podcast operations and increase our revenue.”
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Vox Media, one of the most successful and exciting publishers in the podcast space,” Panoply CEO Brendan Monaghan said. “We’re committed to building innovative tools that help partners like Vox Media grow and succeed.”
