Edison to bring its Infinite Dial consumer listening survey to South Africa this year

The Infinite Dial study is continuing to spread its international footprint. Edison Research announced that the survey will be conducted for the first time in South Africa this year. The country’s National Association of Broadcasters’ Commercial Radio Committee commissioned the study, which will be sponsored by regular Infinite Dial partner Triton Digital. The results are slated to be presented in late August or early September.

The new product will join a growing international editions of The Infinite Dial. The flagship Infinite Dial covers U.S. listening. Other editions question listeners in Canada and Australia. The franchise is over 20 years old, and is the leading consumer research project which describes consumer listening.

“As the voice of the commercial broadcast industry in South Africa, we are looking forward to gaining valuable insight from this study into the habits of listeners and consumers,” NAB Executive Director Nadia Bulbulia said. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Edison on this project, which we feel will benefit the whole media sector.”

“It’s an exciting endeavor to add South Africa to the roster of The Infinite Dial countries,” said Larry Rosin, president of Edison Research. “The impressive broadcast landscape in South Africa, as well as growing online audio engagement, should provide a wealth of new knowledge for the associated industries.”
