Timed to coincide with the IAB Podcast Upfront yesterday in New York, Podtrac released comparative metrics across the span of its monthly public reports of streams and downloads.
Key growth points relate to the company’s two major and most consistent reports: Top 10 Podcast Publishers and Top 20 Podcasts.
Top publishers saw a 57% increase in total streams and downloads from July 2017 to July 2018. (The same report noted a 58% increase the previous July-July year.)
Top podcasts saw 80% growth of streams and downloads from July 2017 to July 2018.
In one other key metric — unique U.S. monthly audience — the top 20 podcasts enjoyed 22% growth in monthly audience (1.9-million to 2.3-million).
