Stitcher: +40% revenue growth year-over-year

Podcast company Stitcher grew its revenue “nearly 40%” in a year, according to the first-quarter earnings call of parent company Scripps. That news was delivered by Laura Tomlin, SVP of National Media, the division in which Stitcher lives. The Stitcher business includes B2B ad-sales unit Midroll Media.

“Our strong industry position and sales execution allowed us to benefit from the growth in the broader marketplace,” Tomlin noted, citing the Edison Research/Triton Digital Infinite Dial metrics of 90-million people in the U.S. listening to podcasts monthly. She also referenced Stitcher’s hit show Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.

Continuing to discuss Scripps’ digital operations, Laura Tomlin disclosed that recently acquired  Triton Digital grew its revenue 13% from the previous year. Triton was acquired last October.
