Spotify hits 60 million listeners, with a quarter paying Premium

spotify logo square canvasSpotify announced that it kicked off 2015 with 60 million active users, including 15 million paying subscribers. The company also shared a short celebratory playlist on its blog in honor of the milestone.

The streaming service has been steadily expanding its listener base, with 40 million total users in May 2014. At that point, it had 10 million paid subscribers. Growth rates seem to be comparable for both the total active user and paid listener groups, holding steady at a 4:1 balance for many months.
