Spotify has announced the addition of a new subscription designed for family sharing. Under the Spotify Family plan, up to four family members can be added to a single billing account while keeping their listening histories and playlists separate. All people in the family will have access to the full set of Premium features. A typical Spotify Premium membership is $9.99, but the Family option offers a 50% discount on each additional person on the plan. That means a two-person plan will run $14.99 a month, and the service maxes out at $29.99 for a full five members.
“This is one of the most asked for features from our audience,” Chief Content Officer Ken Parks said. The press release noted that a global rollout of the plan is scheduled over the coming weeks.
