A mobile music app dubbed Soundtrap has finished a $6 million funding round. The company is developing a cloud-based music-making platform that allows for easy collaboration. Nordic venture capital firm Industrifonden led the round, which included former Spotify CFO and COO Peter Sterky among the new investors. The latest funding will go toward accelerating product development and rolling out in new markets.
“Our vision is for Soundtrap to be the go-to platform for everyone, everywhere, to collaborate around music making and creative audio production across any device,” co-founder and CEO Per Emanuelsson said. He added that the company recently signed a North American distribution agreement with Synnex Corporation. Soundtrap is aiming to reach a million users by the end of the year.
