France is the latest market to see the rollout of SoundCloud Go. The launch brings the extensive library of more than 125 million tracks to French listeners for a subscription cost of €9.99 on Android and €12.99 on iOS following a 30-day free trial. For listeners who do not sign on to the paid tier, SoundCloud is introducing advertising that will help generate payments to artists.
The rollout is in line with SoundCloud Go’s launch in the UK and Ireland last week, where Global’s DAX is assisting with the advertising duties. The company has also signed an agreement with French music rights group Sacem to help create business opportunities for its members on SoundCloud.
