Sonos has released new hardware in the smart speaker space, but its software options have thus far been limited to Amazon Alexa. The company had previously stated that it was working on adding support for Google Assistant this year. In a recent blog post, Sonos announced that this integration will be delayed until 2019. The company didn’t have a more specific time frame, stating that “we need a bit more time to get the experience right.”
Sonos is accepting applications to take part in the private beta of its Google Assistant integration. Interested parties can sign up for consideration if they can commit to at least 14 hours of weekly listening, 10 daily voice commands, and a timely response to surveys.
