Sirius XM announced that several podcasts from WNYC Studios will be added to its programming. Shows produced by the New York Public Radio group will air on Sirius XM Insight channel – which hosts podcasts, public radio, and political comedy – beginning Jan. 9, 2017. This deal covers popular podcasts such as Radiolab, Freakonomics Radio, 2 Dope Queens, and Alec Baldwin’s Here’s the Thing. Sirius will have both first-run and archived episodes seven days a week.
“We’re excited to give our audience easy access to this exceptional programming, all in one place,” Sirius XM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said. “Millions can now discover this unique content and compelling storytelling for the very first time. It’s great radio for their daily SiriusXM listening routines.”
“WNYC wants to be anywhere people are listening,” said Dean Cappello, chief content officer at WNYC and head of the WNYC Studios. “So we are thrilled to bring our award-winning podcasts to SiriusXM and its Insight channel. We’re excited to reach and engage new listeners through this partnership.”
