Rdio launches new native advertising package

rdio logo canvas 160hRdio has introduced a new advertising product dubbed Promoted Music Experiences. This native advertising package is meant to leverage Rdio’s main features to create a comprehensive connection between listeners and brands.“We are dedicated to offering advertising solutions that help brands expand their reach without detracting from the Rdio listener experience,” said Jared Heiman, Rdio’s head of global ad sales. The PME solution takes advantage of three main Rdio features:

  • Branded Stations: Rdio will work with clients to create stations with tracks that exemplify a brand’s personality and voice. These will be highlighted for Rdio listeners, and they will be made available to people on both the free and paid tiers.
  • Branded Profiles: Rdio will allow clients to customize their profiles to showcase featured content that both parties jointly develop. These will also be available to free and paid listeners, and they’ll be promoted for all Rdio listeners.
  • Branded Home Stories: This feature combines curated stations, custom artwork, and company details into a personalized feed of recommendations. These will be promoted on Rdio’s ad-supported free tiers.

Companies that want the Promoted Music Experience will work with Rdio’s curation team to select songs and content that will best evoke a certain personality or tone. Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos is the first partner to take advantage of this advertising option. The entertainment conglomerate will now have a branded station highlighting the feel at its various destination locations as well as a branded page designed to be the fan hub.
