Quiet Fascination

Nilay Patel, executive editor at The Verge, interviews Sirius XM CEO Jennifer Witz. The audio behemoth gets a lot of attention for its acquisitions (Stitcher, Pandora, AdsWizz) but the core satellite radio operation is still the main business. Dialing Down Under

It’s Due

NAB, the chief lobbying and advocacy organization for the radio and television industries, is raising membership dues by one-third, starting in 2024. The money crunch, which Inside Radio characterizes as “a major loss in revenue,” follows the Covid cancellations of two NAB Shows. The NAB reportedly funds 75% of its operations with NAB Show revenue. READ
