Innovating Together Again

SCA announces that Mitchell Secrett has joined up as Innovation Product Manager, underlining the company’s dedication to digital growth. The Aussie media company says Secrett will work closely with SCA’s investments in the audio technology space, including Frequency, the US-based dynamic creative optimisation company working with SCA on LiSTNR and its radio brands. Secrett pairs well with new colleague Matt Saraceni, Innovation Director at SCA — the two worked together building Omny Studio, which is now a division of Triton Digital (owned by iHeartMedia).

 

Living History

A history podcast about … Oprah? If history is best considered while still living, the new Oprahdemics podcasts from Radiotopia and PRX is timely. Launches in the spring, co-hosted by historian/authors Kellie Carter Jackson and Leah Wright Rigueur. They will break down the most iconic episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show while exploring what the Queen of Talk has meant for our culture. No trailer yet, but info HERE.

 

Sad Passing

Mark Lam, influential CEO of webcasting platform Live365, has died in a car accident in Taiwan, his native country. Starting as an advisor to Live365, Lam took the CEO reins in 2004, when he secured new funding the company needed to survive. He was a founding member of the Digital Media Association (DiMA), and was a stalwart champion of small webcasters and independent artists. Live365 shut down for a year following the CRB webcaster royalty rate increase in 2016, resuming again under the Media Creek umbrella. READ
