Jottings of note:
Equitable Coverage
iHeartMedia announces the bolstering of its Women’s Sports podcast division; eight new podcasts are added to the lineup, scheduled for launch “in early 2025.” The intent here is to emphasize iHeart’s commitment to bringing equitable media coverage to women’s sports,” iHeart asserts. The Women’s Sports podcast division was launched in June of last year. The platform is ad-supported and free for listeners. “We launched iHeart Women’s Sports last year to provide the type of women’s sports coverage that fans have long been wanting,” said Jessie Katz, Head of iHeart Women’s Sports. “The latest programming further builds on the media industry’s most consistent, authentic network for news and commentary about women’s sports, and we’re proud to continue to be a leader in women’s sports content, elevating the invaluable voices of women athletes and sports fans through our platform.” The new lineup is packaged for review HERE.
