Drake topples Ed Sheeran’s records: Move over, Ed. Not long after the British songsmith smashed streaming records with his new album, rapper and continued It-Man Drake has bested his numbers. His mixtape More Life racked up more than 61.3 million Spotify streams and 89.9 million Apple Music streams in its first day. Those are record numbers for both platforms.

Rookie Magazine joins the podcast wave: Rookie Magazine joins the ranks of written media making forays into podcasting. The company, which has been catering to a savvy teenage audience since 2011, is partnering with MTV to launch the Rookie Podcast. ASCAP board election results: ASCAP has announced the results of the most recent election for its board of directors. The newly elected member representing songwriters and composers is Michelle Lewis. Most of the other directors have been re-elected to their positions, including ASCAP President and Chairman of the Board Paul Williams.
