PRX has announced that Shona Koester is its new chief operating officer. She joins the media and audio company from American Public Media, where she was most recently the vice president of distribution and content partnerships. During her tenure, Koester helped develop APM’s relationships with The New York Times and the BBC World Service, as well as reaching a record national audience of 21 million listeners for the broadcaster.
“I have enjoyed my experiences and am proud of the work we’ve done at APM,” Koester said. “At the same time, I’m excited to take on this role and for the future of PRX. It’s a company I’ve long admired and look forward to being a part of its growth and future.”
“Shona will be a wonderful addition to PRX as we continue to grow and adapt to a changing media landscape,” PRX CEO Kerri Hoffman said. “She has proven experience in leading high-profile projects and cultivating strong teams. Her experience and commitment to public media will help PRX serve new audiences.”
