Podtrac releases June publisher rankings

Podtrac June 2016 rankingsPodtrac has released its monthly ranking of the podcast publishers using its measurement tools, with some notable changes appearing in the June list. Podtrac has added 500 publishers to its measurement platform since it started releasing rankings. One notable addition is Radiotopia, which landed at No. 5 on the list. Its performance includes the audience and streams of Roman Mars’ popular show 99% Invisible, which secured the No. 8 spot in the May chart as a standalone.

NPR still has the top spot, securing a unique monthly audience of 7.1 million and more than 59.35 million unique streams and downloads. It has 33 active shows. WNYC Studios came in second, followed by This American Life/Serial and How Stuff Works.

All of the top 10 publishers combined generated 179.5 million total global unique streams and downloads in June. Also, each of the top 10 publishers (excluding CBS) saw a drop in their unique monthly audience between May and June.
