Hello Monday: Professional social network LinkedIn is entering the podcast world with a new project titled Hello Monday. Jessi Hempel, LinkedIn senior editor-at-large, will host the program. Every episode will center on a conversation with an individual who has found success in their chosen field. Other insights will come from managing news editor Caroline Fairchild and from LinkedIn user data. Cadence13 is distributing the show. The podcast premiered on March 4.
Skimm This: The daily podcast space is getting a little more crowded. theSkimm, a website focused on smarter living for millennial women, is launching an evening news show called Skimm This. Each 10-minute episode will offer context and background for the day’s top stories. Produced in partnership with Cadence13 and with initial sponsor Dunkin’, the podcast debuted on March 4.
Deepak Chopra’s Infinite Potential, Daily Breath: Cadence13 also shared plans to launch an exclusive podcast slate with integrative medicine specialist Deepak Chopra. The new shows, hosted by Chopra, include Deepak Chopra’s Infinite Potential and Daily Breath. The former will feature conversations about consciousness and intentional living with a range of guests. The latter is a short daily guide for meditation. Both are co-produced by Cadence13 and documentary TV company Part2 Pictures. Deepak Chopra’s Infinite Potential launches on March 18 and Daily Breath launches on April 22.
Bear and a Banjo: iHeartMedia has been launching loads of new podcast projects, and the latest is an interesting genre crossover. Bear and a Banjo will be a narrative musical podcast, with each episode telling a self-contained story about a character called Mister Bear. The project was created by Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, Jingle Jared, and Dennis Quaid, who will narrate the show. The podcast, which will launch later in 2019, will be accompanied by a The Bear and A Banjo album launch.
